MALMO, Sweden – The latest generation Polestar performance pack is now available for the new Volvo V90 Cross Country to “take its performance and drivability further in five key areas”.

Niels Möller, COO of Polestar, told The Corner in a media release: ”To include the V90 Cross Country, a true adventure crossover, in our optimisation programme is a vital part of our operation. Our product provides performance-orientated customers with a new level of driving pleasure.”

The optimisation, available for the V90 Cross Country T6, D5 and D4 models to begin with, claims to not only increases engine performance but also affects five areas for a more dynamic driving experience.

“The main focus is on engine mid-range, most often used in everyday driving,” Volvo says. “Connected to this is new calibration of the gearbox, including faster shifts, to support the greater performance, for a more engaging driving experience.”

Thed Björk, who drives a Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 with Drive-E technology in the 2016 World Touring Car championship, added: ”Our focus is always on creating usable performance, just as we do with our race cars. This is made possible by treating the entire power train, including engine, gearbox and throttle response – as one unit.”
