- Kia releases first images of all-new Picanto
- ‘Youthful, energetic design for baby-car
- ‘More assertive’ stance in A-segment package

SEOUL, South Korea – Kia Motors has released images of its all-new Picanto, calling it “the third generation of one of Kia ’s global best-sellers”.
The latest model is a child of Kia ’s design centres in Namyang (Korea) and Frankfurt (Germany) and, the automaker says, “brings youthful and energetic character to the A-segment”.

The images with this item are of the sport-inspired GT-Line. “It conveys a more assertive stance,” Kia says “through bolder body lines and subtly sculpted surfaces.”
The wheelbase has been stretched by 15mm from 2385 to 2400mm and the colour choice” is more vibrant than ever, 11 bright paint options to make the car stand out”.

“The interior,” Kia says, “has a suite of high-tech comfort, convenience and safety features in a modern and refined new cabin design. At its heart is a new ‘floating’ touchscreen-equipped infotainment system.
“The Picanto will also offer greater potential for buyers to personalise their purchase through a range of trim and upholstery.
NO DETAILS – BUT ON THE WAY…
The cars’ extended wheelbase, with shorter front and longer rear overhangs, works out so that the 2017 Picanto is the same length (3595mm) as the car it replaces.
Picanto 3 will go public at the March 2017 Geneva international auto show and reach showrooms in the third quarter of 2017. It should be in South Africa before the end of that year – though no technical or specification information is yet available.
