- Isuzu 250 X-Rider 4×2 Double Cab is extra model
- Bakkie based on KB 250 Hi-Rider double-cab
- Model range now totals 19 in South Africa

PORT ELIZABETH, Eastern Cape – The X-Rider was introduced a year ago but as a limited run of about 700 units, Isuzu says, and sold out fast. Now it’s back on the price list as a permanent model.
It’s now badged as the KB 250 X-Rider 4×2 Double Cab and takes to 19 the number of KB derivatives in three body types.
Under its bonnet is a 100kW / 320Nm, 2.5-litre, engine that’s been around since a model facelift in late 2015 and is regarded by Isuzu as having performance “in keeping with the X-Rider’s sporty and recreational positioning”.

Price? At R388 400, The Corner was told, the bakkie is “a unique blend of versatility and comfort” whose immediate identification can start with its diamond-cut 18″ alloy wheels rims with red “Isuzu” centre caps, a black bumper guard inset with foul-weather lights, black tubular side steps and sports bar with X-Rider decals, and blacked out B-pillars.
RUGGED TOW-BALL
The new stuff rides on low-profile 255/50 Grabber all-terrain rubber that, Isuzu says, are unique to the X-Rider.
Mlungisi Nkonyana, Isuzu SA brand manager, enlarged: “The X-Rider isn’t just about purposeful and head-turning looks – it will deliver when required. A heavy-duty tow-ball is standard and can haul a 2.1-tonne braked trailer.
“The interior, though, does not shout “workhorse” – rather its functionality and elegance come together to create a comfortable and user-friendly cabin.”
Other upmarket touches include:

Full leather upholstery with stitched red insignia
Leather-clad steering-wheel and gear-shifter boot
Shiny black trim on the doors, air vents, radio and front console
Remote keyless entry and aircon
Remote controls on the steering-wheel
“Projector” headlights flanked by daytime running lights, Isuzu says, “all contribute to car-like levels of comfort, convenience and safety”.
Body-colour choice is restricted to white, silver or red.
