- Powered by 120kW, two-litre, SkyActiv-G engine
- Cherry-coloured roof, BBS rims, leather seats
- Special version of fourth-generation convertible

LONDON, England – Mazda UK says it will bring a burst of colour to the MX-5 sport-car range in March 2018 with the launch of a Z-Sport special edition.
The cars will identify themselves with a deep-cherry red fabric hood, 17″ black BBS wheel rims and a special grey paint job.
Exclusive stuff in the cabin will include sand-coloured leather upholstery, Z-Sport mats and scuff plates and a numbered Z-Sport plaque on the facia.

And sorry, fans, but sales will be restricted to the UK (The Corner thought you might like a special close-up anyway) and only 300 will be assembled with power coming from a two-litre 120kW engine.
‘STRIKING AND EXCLUSIVE
The £26 000 (about R460 000 in Dec 2017) Z-Sport will also have a limited-slip differential, Bilstein shock-absorbers and a strut brace.
The cars, Mazda UK says, continue a trend of offering a striking and exclusive car “at an affordable price”. This the scond MX-5 to wear the Z-Sport badge revisits a name last used on the third-generation MX-5 in 2007.

“Representing the first chance to buy a current-generation MX-5 convertible with an exclusive-colour fabric roof,” Mazda UK says, “the Z-Sport provides exterior differentiation through its unique hood.”
Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK’s MD, said: “The MX-5’s cherry roof was shown for the first time at the recent Tokyo autoshow where it received a very positive reception.
“We’ve had a long tradition of producing distinctive limited-edition MX-5’s but the combination of cherry roof and grey metallic paint make this one of the most exclusive we’ve offered.”
