TURIN, Italy – Jeep has a new model on showroom floors, a sporty interpretation of its flagship model and the world’s most-awarded SUV – the Grand Cherokee S.
The new limited-edition model, the automakers says, ”builds on 26 years of sales success and technological records during which time the Grand Cherokee has come to define the premium SUV segment it created in 1992”
It’s also, Jeep says, contributed to making it more appealing to customers around the world.

Various versions of the SUV will be available in several European markets to add, Jeep says, a new sporty look to the premium design of the Grand Cherokee with a distinctive exterior enhanced accents on badging, grille bezels, step pad, tail lights and 20” wheels rims.

To underscore its assertive stance, the new Jeep has a gloss black grille and windows surround and a dual exhaust with a black chromed finish.
”Its athletic character,” Jeep says, ”is further enhanced with a sport suspension included in the standard performance handling group.”
The cabin has anodised gunmetal accents, black wood finishes and black instrument panel stitching. Metal pedals an black SRT-like perforated leather upholstery.
CONFIGURABLE FACIA DISPLAYS
In addition to its specific stylistic cues, the new special edition has an array of user-friendly technology such as the latest version of the Uconnect 21cm touchscreen radio that includes Apple CarPlay, is compatible with Android Auto and allows the driver to control many features, such as aircon and infotainment.

There are also a 18cm configurable multiview display cluster, 506W sub-woofer and an Alpine audio system.
A dual-pane sunroof, leather-wrapped steering-wheel, heatable and ventilated front and rear seats and dual-zone aircon are standard.

The Jeep S’s 4×4 system inlcudes a rear electronic limited-slip differential. In some cases, the vehicle will anticipate low traction and adjust to limit or eliminate slip. In addition, the new S has a Jeep traction management system with five settings (Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, Rock) and gradient-descent control.
There are, Jeep says, more than 70 safety and security features to protect occupants and pedestrians, among them front collision warning and added peace of mind, lane-keeping, adaptive/full stop cruise control, blind-spot monitors and sideways vehicle detection.
