MILAN, Italy – The 2018 Ducati new-model season will rev into action this weekend (April 7) in Europe with a dealer launch in London of the 2018 Ducati and Scrambler ranges.

The bikemaker from Bologna says excitement and anticipation have built through the European winter with the Ducatisti whetting their appetite with hints and spy images – but here we have the real machines.

Ducati told The Corner that in England, for example, sportbike enthusiasts have become desperate to see, touch and ride the extraordinary Panigale V4 S. The new 959 Panigale Corse also joins the Ducati superbike stable with its stunning livery and Ohlins suspension.

For those who prefer highway to track, the Multistrada family will introduce a new Multistrada 1260 with a new engine and an array of electronic features that,  Ducati promises, ”will make it one of the most advanced motorcycles in its class”.

Core to the Ducati range, of course, is the fear-inspiring name Monster and visitors to Ducati showrooms from next week can cast their eyes over the new Monster 821, resplendent in yellow.

The Scrambler range has become an important companion to Ducati models and 2018 will see the launch of the Scrambler 1100 in three versions: standard, custom special, and Sport – that last, as the name implies, will have a sportier suspension and looks.

Ducati dealers in Europe (we’ve heard nothing from Ducati SA yet) will have a representative display of new and current models from the 2018 range so Ducati hopefuls should check with their local dealer to see which bikes will be on display (you could maybe to the same in South Africa).

For readers in Europe, test rides will, of course, be at a dealer’s discretion, though bookings can be taken for future test rides.

A new set of riding gear will become available to go with both Scrambler and Ducati brands and, for those that wish to personalise their bikes, there will (in the UK at least) be discounts of up to 25% on some accessories and apparel.

There will also, in Europe, be the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win a chance to ride a 959 Panigale on track at a Ducati track day at the UK’s Silverstone circuit, home of the British MotoGP.
