The sad, sad story of the 100km/h Aussie goat

JUST for a touch of the lighter side, a joke sent from a Carman’s Corner friend who lives way up north and is the toughest, sweetest and nicest elderly lady I have ever met. Heather, you know who you are…

Anyway, have a chuckle

Two Aussies were out hunting in the Outback and came upon a huge hole in the ground. The edged up to it, only to be amazed but its size

One commented, in awe: “Wow, that’s some hole. I can’t even see the bottom. I wonder how deep it is?”

The other suggested, “Look, there’s an old truck gearbox over there. Let’s throw it in and see how long it takes to hit bottom.”

BUTTING IN…

So, they picked up the ‘box, carried it over to the hole, counted 1-2-3 and heaved it in, only to be distracted when a goat came crashing through the underbrush, ran up to the hole, and without hesitation jumped in head-first.

Totally amazed by what seemed to be suicidal goat, they were standing there staring alternately into the hole and at each other while trying to figure out what had happened.

Just then an old farmer sauntered up. “Say, you fellas didn’t happen to see my goat?”

…AND BUTTING OUT

One of the hunters spoke up: “Funny you should ask. We were just standing here a minute ago when a goat came running out of the bush doing about 100 kays an hour and jumped head-first into this here hole!”

”Naw,” the old farmer grunted, “can’t have been my Billy. He was chained to a gearbox.”
