- Yes, it’s real – the AMG hypersupercar
- Supercar from Mercedes ready for Paris show
- Road and track done – now it’s a truck ride

AFFALTERBACH, Germany – Mercedes-AMG ONE. That’s now officially the name of Mercedes-Benz’ future hypercar as it’s prepared for it ”reveal” at the 2018 Paris auto show.
AMG says the badging represents the highest automotive ambition: to bring Formula 1 hybrid technology to the road. ”Mercedes-AMG ONE,” its builder boasts, ”will be the pinnacle of the model portfolio and the absolute top-of-the-line model – as is logically referenced by the One.

”Mercedes-AMG, after months of intensive testing in England on high-performance test stands and race tracks, now presents the latest development status of an outstanding technical feature: the active aerodynamics.”
TOP-TIER KNOWLEDGE
Active aerodynamics, being tested now in a wind-tunnel, include a multi-part, two-stage, extendable rear wing for maximum downforce in race mode.
”Nowhere is better knowledge of aerodynamics to be found,” AMG says, ”than in the top tier: experts at the high-performance subsidiaries in Affalterbach (Germany) and Brackley and Brixworth (England) are working across borders to bring racing technology to life in a street-legal vehicle.”

The car has, however, already taken to public roads – but in a custom-built trailer with extendable sides. It’s a mobile showroom, badged as ‘The Future of Driving Performance’, for Mercedes-AMG to show off the latest status of the hypercar.

A privileged few will be allowed to sit in the cockpit for a demonstration of individual equipment options.

With all sides open and extended, the truck becomes a mobile customer showroom with a vehicle display, coffee bar, lounge and information elements, such as touch-screen animations, material samples, and colour examples.
Merc-AMG told The Corner that the content would be updated frequently but already includes video documentations and interviews. The show truck started its tour with the Mercedes-AMG ONE in the grounds of a Munich Mercedes-Benz branch.
