PRETORIA, Gauteng – The Jaguar XE 300 Sport special edition with a unique combination of exterior design details and interior trim is now available in South Africa.
As well as four exterior paint choices – red, black silver or white – the car’s shell has a selection of model-specific enhancements such as satin grey for the grille and window frames, sills and vents, rear valance, mirror caps and boot spoiler.
Alloy rim choices is from 19 or 20”, also with a satin grey finish, while black brake calipers get 300 SPORT branding.
POWER FRONT SEATS
The cabin is finished with matching 300 Sport badges on the steering-wheel, sill tread-plates, mats and head restraints, and yellow contrast stitching on the instrument panel, door casings, mats, armrest, multi-function steering-wheel, split folding rear seats and 14-way power front seats.
The rear-wheel drive 300 Sport has Jaguar Land Rover’s 221kW/400Nm two-litre, four-cylinder, Ingenium petrol engine and an eight-speed auto transmission.
The combination can take the XE from 0-100km/h in 5.7sec.
Standard on all Jaguar XE models – including the 300 Sport – is Torque Vectoring by Braking which, Jaguar says, helps to maximise control through curves by providing controlled independent braking to the individual inside front and rear wheels.
The system,Jaguar claims, delivers outstanding sport car-like agility and driving confidence.
Also standard on each XE is all-surface progress control – a low-speed cruise control that helps on slippery ground and in an tough situations in any weather, letting the the driver concentrate on steering while JaguarDrive Control allows the driver to select drive mode at the touch of a finger.
Settings range from Dynamic – faster gearshifts and sportier kickdowns – to Eco with earlier upshifts and more efficient transmission programmes.
The XE 300 SPORT is in South African showrooms now priced from R792 800 (including VAT but not CO2 tax).
