2019 Hyundai US flagship aiming to be a peak of styling

  • Hyundai US flagship – 8 seats, space for big family
  • Lots of high-tech, intelligent, safety features
  • ‘Intuitive tech’ for passengers convenience

ANN ARBOR, Michigan – Hyundai has badged its giant new 2019 US flagship SUV  the Palisade, using the geological name for a range of coastal cliffs (the Palisades) on the southern Californian Pacific coast.

Less glamorous, of course, a palisade is also a rough wooden fence around a defensive military position…

It’s BIG, if not exactly beautiful, and is described by its maker as ”conveying a bold exterior that commands attention and has strong inherent imagery of safety and security – especially important for parents with growing families”.

Hyundai goes on, fulsomely: ”The Palisade styling will offer dignity with style in an understated theme that demonstrates clear differentiation worthy of a flagship SUV.”

The Palisade will be shown to the motoring media for the first time at the Los Angeles auto show which will open on November 28 and will hit US showrooms in the middle of 2019.

The Palisades range, Hyundai says, is known for its cool sea breezes, easy access to beaches, and spectacular sunsets. It also has three large parks and hiking and biking paths.

PS: It seems sister company is launching its own giant SUV on the same platform: it’s called the Telluride.
