LONDON (Reuters) – The family of seven-times Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher has assured fans that he is being well cared-for as they prepare to celebrate his 50th birthday on Jan 3 2019.
Schumacher quit racing in 2012 then incurred severe head injuries in a skiing fall five years ago. He’s been under specialist care at his home in Switzerland since his time in hospital.

A family statement said: “You can be sure he’s in the very best of hands, that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him.
“Please understand we are following Michael’s wishes for strict privacy.”
