- Collector’s dream: A super unique BMW 8 Series
- Individual specifications for luxury cabin
- Twin-turbo, 390kW, eight-cylinder, petrol engine
MUNICH, Germany – A special run of only 400 BMW 8 Series coupes badged as M850i xDrive Coupe First Edition will be released in April-June 2019 with a promise of ”maximum exclusivity due to its individual configuration”.
Will the car come to South Africa? Yep, but only eight…
Though buyers probably don’t worrying about the petrol price, BMW Munich suggests about 9.8 litres/100km for the two-door, its drive and suspension developed with racing know-how and BMW Individual exterior, and interior equipment features.
If the shape of the car itself fails to attract covetous glances then the thin-spoked, 20” alloy wheel-rims and unique BMW Individual special paint finish (Frozen Barcelona Blue metallic) certainly will.
Available options include, among other stuff, an carbon roof and exterior package.
A special feature for the cabin will be the BMW Individual Merino ivory/dark blue leather upholstery and steering-wheel wrap.
The cars’ individual number is displayed on the facia – which will also be home to Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system and glass applications on the ignition button, iDrive Controller, volume control and illuminated gear-shifter.
The bit that really matters and lives under the bonnet, however, is a twin-turbo, 390kW, eight-cylinder, petrol engine, its task to an eight-speed Steptronic sport transmission and all-wheel drive.
”The suspension,” BMW says, ”has been perfectly tuned to the vehicle.”
The BMW M850i xDrive Coupe First Edition’s combined fuel consumption is 9.8 litres/100km, CO2 emissions 223g/km.
