
LONDON, England – Suzuki ‘s big little guy, the 2019 Jimny, has made it to the semi-finals of three categories in the 2019 World Car awards.
It’s sister, the Suzuki Ignis,, had successes for the Ignis in 2017 and the Swift in 2018 in the World Urban Car category. The Jimny has so far made it through the first round of votes and into the top Five for World Urban Car, top Five for World Car Design, and top 10 for overall World Car of the Year.

The next round will determine the final shortlist for each category and were due to be announced on March 5 2019 at the Geneva auto show.

Juror Mike Rutherford said: “Suzuki has again seen off many rival manufacturers from around the world to become a 2019 World Car finalist. This is a company that produces some of the finest small cars on the market,and it may yet go on to lift a trophy or three at the New York International auto show in April.”

The current Jimny was launched in the Japanese domestic market in 2018, and was at the Frankfurt auto show in September 2018.
Technically, the baby 4×4 has the latest in standard safety technology, aircon, auto headlights, front fog lights and Bluetooth connectivity.
Power comes from a 75kW, 1.5-litre, petrol engine and is delivered to the ground through selectable all-wheel drive – including low range.
