JOHANNESBURG, Gauteng – Two popular Suzuki models, Baleno hatchback and Ignis urban SUV, are now available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The touch-screen audio system in each model has the latest Smartphone Linkage Display Audio system which allows integration of either source and will be available as standard equipment on the GLX specification level, bringing the Baleno and Ignis on par with other Suzuki GLX units and including
Suzuki’s newest-generation SLDA has a larger touchscreen and adds steering-wheel controls and, the automaker says, ”doubles as the screen for the cars’ reversing camera.
Both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay replicate many of the user’s smartphone functions onscreen: calls, messages, satnav. music, podcasts and audiobooks without handling the phone.
The system also has Bluetooth and hands-free calling, with phone buttons on the steering-wheel.
The Baleno 1.4 GLX is available in manual or auto and has climate cruise control, rear parking radar, six crash bags, and keyless start.
The Ignis 1.2 GLX has five-speed manual or automated manual gearbox, climate control, keyless start system and four power windows.
