JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – The Lexus franchise in South Africa has received stock of the brand’s ”substantially-revised” supercoupes with the slogan that ‘race-bred styling meets head-turner’.
Which might not be exactly PC in today’s political climate, but there you go.
There are two versions: RC F and RC F Track Edition said by the automaker to ”include an improved and style-enhanced RC F plus sharp specification for the first RC F Track Edition”.
‘THEY’RE A FORMIDABLE PAIR’
Each is lighter than its predecessor but still has a monstrous non-turbo five-litre V8 engine supported by even more dynamic handling. Now fasten your in-car crash mitigation installation: the RC F will bill you for R1 318 300, the faster and sharper RC F Track Edition R2 098 200.

”The latter,” Lexus says, ”has honed aerodynamic focus with a number of performance modifications, among them a front lower spoiler to further reduce front-end lift and extensive use of carbon-fibre body parts.
“The RC F and RC F Track Edition,” a Lexus SA exec says, ”will make a formidable pair in the South African market. And offering a more *****-priced RC F and a more ****-dynamic RC F Track Edition, we hope, will be an ideal twin-strategy in the car enthusiasts’ market.’

Each is now (June 2019) available to order from any Lexus dealer in South Africa.
