RESTON, Virginia – Electrify America has signed an agreement with Harley-Davidson to provide owners of its first all-electric motorcycle, The Harley-Davidson® LiveWire™ with the per minute equivalent of 500kW hours of complimentary charging over two years through Electrify America rechargestations nationwide.
LiveWire motorcycle customers who buy a bike assembled through August 2019 to end July 2021 can enrol and manage their charging plan through a newElectrify America mobile app, available through Android and iPhone.
Harley-Davidson customers will use a network of ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers across highway and metro stations planned for 42 states and the District of Columbia.
To highlight the convenience of charging on the network to new LiveWire motorcycle owners, Electrify America charging locations will be integrated with the latest version of the Harley-Davidson™ App.
Giovanni Palazzo, president and CEO of Electrify America, told The Corner through a media release: “With an average of 130km between each of our charging stations we’re creating a network that is premium, ubiquitous and powerful. It makes sense that we would expand that offering to owners of an electric motorcycle.”
Luke Mansfield, VP and chief strategy officer for H-D, added: “We’re excited to be working with such an iconic brand as part of a shared commitment to advancing the electric vehicle industry. H-D is taking significant steps to lead the electrification of motorcycling, including supporting a charging infrastructure.
“We look forward to providing our customers with ample opportunities to charge their Livewire motorcycles, including access to free charging.”
The company expects to have under development about 800 total-charging station sites with 3500 chargers by December 2021 covering 29 metros and 45 states, including two cross-country routes.”
