HOCKENHEIM, Germany – Max Verstappen made five pit stops, spun, then won a crazy German F1 GP on Sunday while F1 champion and current points leader Lewis Hamilton had a nightmare afternoon.
Hamilton finished 11th on track before a final twist lifted the Mercedes driver to ninth after post-race penalties were applied to other drivers after the horrendous, rain-drenched, race.
Including an awesome drive by Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel who started stone last thanks to failing to set a qualifying time but came home second.

Russian Daniil Kvyat finished an equally awesome third for Toro Rosso.
Verstappen, 21, said after the race: “It was amazing. It was really tricky out there to make the right calls – we really had to be focussed.”
He finished more than seven seconds ahead of Vettel – and as a bonus scored the extra point now available for setting the fastest lap.
