- Five-door coupe gets S design elements
- Twin-turbo 2.9-litre better than predecessor
- S sport package delivers enhanced driving dynamics
HERNDON, Virginia – An all-new 2020 Audi S7 Sportback has been launched in the US with, its maker says, ”even more performance and innovative technologies”, a dynamic design, sportier driving experience, excellent functionality, and five seats.
The cars will have a new 2.9-litre twin-turbo, TFSI V6 capable of 330kW / 600Nm to spin the all-wheel drive.
The Sportback in the US will have S-model bumpers and sills and a quad exhaust, 20” five-spoked alloy wheel rims, a platinum double-slat Singleframe grille, aluminum-optic front splitter and external mirror casings, and a matte black rear diffuser inlay.
Valcona leather S sport seats with diamond stitch will be standard along with double-glazing while a optional black optic package includes a black exterior kit with black exterior mirror housings and 21” five-spoked anthracite rims.
The S7 houses a twin turbocharged 2.9-liter TFSI® V6 engine that delivers 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque (+109 hp/+74 lb-ft over the A7), allowing the five-door coupe to sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
New for 2020, the S7 features a 48V electric compressor that enables low-end torque desired from an S-model and instant acceleration. The standard eight-speed Tiptronic auto transmission with all-wheel drive works in tandem with an electric compressor to further reduce turbo lag and enable immediate throttle response.
Standard S-tuned adaptive air suspension and upgraded brakes can switch between ”dynamic” and ”comfort” road experiences controlled by an (optional) S sport package which adds dynamic all-wheel steering while a quattro differential can provide increased maneuverability at all speeds.
A sport package adds a special exhaust and red brake callipers.
The most dynamic model, however, of the S7 comes to life when the optional sport suspension is combined with the S sport package, depending on the selected drive choice.
standard equipment includes an Audi virtual cockpit, four-zone auto aircon, all-round camera display, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Diode headlights with Audi laser light and high-beam assistant (standard on Prestige models) are 30% more energy-efficient than standard LED units.
A full suite of standard / optional driving assistance features – among them adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic camera, and vehicle exit warning – will be available.
- Model year 2020 S7 starting manufacturer suggested retail prices in the US range from $83 900 to $89 500.
