
JOHANNESBURG, South AfricA – Suzuki Auto SA says it is riding a wave of popularity thanks to recording its best-yet sales month in October 2019.
The Japanese brand sold 1629 vehicles that month, beating its best by 48 units or three percent and ranking it in the nine top-selling OEMs in South Africa.
Suzuki also sold the most vehicles yet through its dealer channel, easily breaking its previous best.

”To put the new sales record into context,” the auto retailer said, ”it is a huge 46.6% higher than in October 2018.
Overall, vehicle sales in South Africa are depressed – the overall total sales for the year to date are down by 3.1%. Despite this, in October sales proved to be more resilient than in previous months with a total of 51 978 vehicles sold for an overall growth of 0.2% compared to the same month the previous year.

At the 2019 Cars.co.za Consumer Awards judges chose the Swift 1.2 GLX, the Swift Sport, and the Vitara 1.4T GLX a/t as finalists in the budget, fun hatch and compact family car categories respectively.
André Venter, divisional manager for sales and marketing at Suzuki Auto SA, told The Corner in a media release: ”We’re truly thankful for our success through recent few months. The rapid sales growth follows many years of steady investment in our product line and dealer network.”
Suzuki was named one of the fastest growing brands in 2018 and is set to repeat that in 2019.
