HERNDON, Virginia – The 2020 Audi Q7 has been given an all-encompassing update in the US using enhanced technology and infotainment systems and exterior and interior design improvements.
The revised units will have an all-new three-litre TFSI V6 engine capable of 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque – the latter 44 lb-ft stronger than the previous generation with peak production available through wider and lower RPM ranges.
The engine will turn an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission which, Audi US said would be well suited for the low-end torque of the turbocharged V6 and its eight gears should provide quick and smooth shifts. All-wheel drive will be standard.
The V6 has a twin-scroll turbo mounted between the cylinder banks and responsible in large part of the cars’ 0-100km/h in 5.7sec.
Q7 drivers will also be able to adjust ride height and shock-absorber resistance. Along with the standard Drive Select modes the adaptive air suspension adds five ride-heights:: standard, off-road, lift, dynamic, loading.
Optional all-wheel steering can increase the agility of the cars, giving the Q7 more maneuvreability while urban driving. Towing no problem: 7700lb maximum.
The standard units will have 20” five-spoked wheel rims shod with all-season run-flats. Premium Plus and Prestige models can have 21” Audi Sport doubled-spoked rims with all-season tyres. Also available in the US will be 22” Audi Sport rims in matte platinum with summer performance tyres.
