JOHANNESBURG, Gauteng – Toyota’s Land Cruiser 200 is still the flagship of the Land Cruiser range as an overland vehicle, with space, luxury, and high-tech driver support technology.
Leveraging these credentials – and expanding on them for 2020 – the LC200 in VX-R form has been fitted with a 14-speaker JBL Premium sound system and rear-seat entertainment system.
Journey entertainment in the rear means two 29cm screens with multimedia inputs in the rear console – and that’s along with four-zone aircon.
GEARED FOR OFF-ROAD
Other spec items are unchanged: comfort and convenience features, cruise control, lane-keeping, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic anti-collision radar.
Off-road, of course means traction tech and the Cruiser is not caught short: there’s a multi-terrain system with ultra low-range and all-round cameras for really tough going supported by the wagon’s high approach and departure angles.

The bonnet hides a 4.5-litre turbodiesel V8 engine capable of 195kW/650Nm from 1600-2600rpm to power all wheels through a six-speed auto transmission.
Six shell colours are available and buyers can choose a black or beige cabin for the VX-R.
Each Land Cruiser 200 is sold with a nine-services or 90 000km (whichever comes first) service plan and a three-year or 100 000km (whichever comes first) warranty.
