Hamilton asking R2.5-million A DAY to drive F1?

LONDON, England – Mercedes’ multiple Formula 1 racing champion Lewis Hamilton (35) has discounted news media speculation that talks about his future with the team have stalled.

Instead, the English driver says they have yet to start.

He told the Reuters news agency: ”FYI the team principal (Toto (Wolff) and I have not even spoken about contract yet, Nothing is being negotiated currently – papers are making up stories.”

Reports in Italy, the agency said, had suggested Hamilton was seeking $60-million a year – in South African terms, about R888-million – about R2.5-million A DAY!

Red Bull’s motorsport head Helmut Marko was reported by Autobild as saying only Ferrari would be willing to pay such an amount for a driver.
