PRETORIA, South Africa – Jaguar has added a Chequered Flag special edition to its range of F-Pace SUV vehicles available in South Africa, explaining that the inspiration ”came from our rich racing heritage”.
The units have a ‘Sport’ front bumper and gloss-black grille detailing, door cladding, side vents and roof rails, and the same finish on the 19” wheel rims with their five split spokes.

The cabin also has some different detailing: perforated leather upholstery, meshed aluminium, and Chequered Flag tread plates. Also standard are 10-way powered front seats, Apple CarPlay, Touch Pro Navigation, Meridian audio, and a reconfigurable 31cm Interactive info display.

Three two-litre engines from the Jaguar range are offered: range of two-litre AWD powertrains are available:
An all-wheel drive 184kW Ingenium petrol capale of 200km/h and seven seconds to 100km/h.
Two diesel options (132kW or 177kW), each also with all-wheel drive. The 132kW version can reach 100km/h in nine seconds and top out at 208km/h while the 177kW vers can manage 7.2sec and 217km/h. One wonders why…?

Anyway, the Chequered Flag will be finished according to taste in white, black, or grey, each with fancy names that convey nothing, so on to the prices:
Jaguar F-Pace Chequered Flag 2.0 132kW AWD diesel – R1 030 500
Jaguar F-Pace Chequered Flag 2.0 177kW AWD diesel – R1 117 300
Jaguar F-Pace Chequered Flag 2.0 184kW AWD petrol – R1 125 200
Each will be delivered with a five-year maintenance programme and a 100 000km or five-year warranty.*
