JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – KIA Motors says it has listened to is customers and, it says, because of that has introduced an infotainment upgrade for its Sportage range. Even better, it can be retro-fitted to existing units.
The Sportage, on the auto market for 29 years in various guises, is the most successful model in KIA’s history and a core model among SA dealers since launch at the 1991 Tokyo auto show as an ‘Urban ‘SUV’.
The current range is the fourth since Japan.
Gary Scott, CEO, KIA Motors SA, told The Corner in a media release: ”The Sportage is a true SUV; this latest update has the latest technology and capability as part of a highly competitive value package.”
So, what are the benefits? KIA says the upgrade is applicable to the Ignite and Ignite Plus models. It beings a 20cm colour touchscreen, reversing camera, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto to aligns with other Sportage units among the rest of KIA’s range.
Gonna cost. Well, yes… cough up R6325 for unit, fitting and VAT at any KIA dealer in South Africa.
…AND SO TO THE PRICES
All Sportage units will be sold with an unlimited distance five-year warranty, a five-year or 90 000km* service plan and five years of roadside assistance.
