JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Volkswagen’s major vehicle launch for 2020 will be streamed via a digital event: the T-Roc will premiere in South Africa on Thursday, June 17.
Martina Biene, head of the Volkswagen brand, told The Corner in a media release: “Covid-19 has required that we find innovative ways to communicate with customers and launch our products.
News of the Spanish-assembled vehicles was first announced on Carman’s Corner back in February 2018. The car, depending on market, will include a cabriolet in its range.

”We’re very excited to be launching the T-Roc in South Africa through a digital event – one of the first such for the South African automotive industry.”
The T-Roc will complete VW’s T-SUV range in South Africa, a grouping which already includes the T-Cross, Tiguan, Tiguan Allspace and Touareg. It will slot in between the T-Cross and the Tiguan.
