New boss appointed for Fiat Chrysler SA network

MIDRAND, Gauteng – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has appointed Ismaeel Hassen as CEO for South Africa as current CEO Pierre Martin Bos heads for a new post in Morocco. The Corner congratulates you both…

Bos told The Corner before heading north: “The Covid pandemic has placed many challenges on the global automotive industry – but has also brought opportunities. FCA brands have shown strong growth over the past year.

”I’ve spent less time in South Africa than I thought I would but I leave the market in very capable hands with Ismaeel at the helm and a team which has seasoned itself very quickly.”


Hassan is no stranger to the FCA family, He returned to South Africa in August 2019 after more than a decade in the Middle East launching many of FCA’s brands and developing the network with General Distributors.

His experience extends across sales, product, marketing, logistics and after-sales – knowledge he believes will be invaluable in growing these areas of FCA in South Africa.

Hassan added: “FCA has an amazing portfolio of brands that provides a product for every customer. I’m as excited to return to South Africa as I am with this opportunity to lead the brands in SA as well as right-hand drive Africa.

”I know I can make a positive and immediate difference to these brands.

”I’ll be working closely with our current and future network partners to ensure that we re-affirm our presence and commitment to the market with award-winning global products and assertive consumer offerings within a customer-centric, best-in-class, network.”


Hassen  has an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom.

His appointment is effective immediately.
