ISTANBUL, Turkey – Turkey wants to return permanently to the annual Formula 1 race calendar after its its first such race in nearly a decade scheduled for November 2020.
November’s race will replace the cancelled Chinese GP.
Turkey, according to the Reuters news service, last hosted a GP in 2011 when the Istanbul circuit was popular among drivers despite small crowds. Tempting, however, for 2020 might be the ticket prices: the equivalent of about R70.
