JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – The Maserati MC20, the brand’s new super sport-car, made its debut in South Africa this week.
The striking Blu Infinito MC20 arrived at Maserati Johannesburg soon after completing a rigorous hot-weather testing schedule in the Northern Cape and elsewhere in South Africa so to celebrate Maserati Johannesburg hosted private viewing sessions for guests and the media at Maserati House in Bryanston
Domenico La Marte, Maserati Middle East and Africa’s general manager, told The Corner: “We’re proud to show the MC20 for the first time in South Africa. The MC20 inaugurates an era in the only way we know – with audacity, energy, and always focusing on our goal to deliver one of the most exclusive experiences to our clients.”
NEW ERA, FIRST STEP
Nagesh Naidoo, Maserati Johannesburg’s dealer principal, said: “We’re very proud that South Africa has been chosen as an official testing location for the MC20. The car’s been creating a lot of buzz in the market so we’re excited to show it to our clients and the media.”
MC20 is said to be the first step into a new era, paving the way for the future of Maserati with its innovation, uniqueness and audacity. The supercar’s elegant design was achieved by finely balancing a series of opposites: craftsmanship and engineering, elegance and performance, racing spirit, and pleasure at the wheel.
The car is said to have ”incredible” aerodynamic efficiency and is moved by a Nettuno engine, a 463kW/730Nm V6 that can deliver 0-100km/h in less than 2.9sec and a top speed beyond 325km/h.
The Maserati MC20 is expected to arrive in South Africa towards the end of 2021.
