JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Nissan SA launched a new version of its Navara double-cab in June 2021 but now comes a single-cab, assembled in SA and ”ready to work”.
Stefan Haasbroek, Nissan SA’s marketing director, told The Corner: ”The single cab comes with an impressive list of best-in-class features – among them high levels of safety and security such as driver and passenger crash-mitigation bags anti-lock brakes, and electronic brake-pressure distribution.”
The single-cab 2.5-litre D0HC petrol engine (XE grade) can provide 118kW/233Nm but the 2.5-litre diesel has a choice of two engines: 140kW/450Nm but the mid-output (XE and SE) are powered by a 2.5-litre with dual-overhead camshafts, direct injection, turbocharger/intercooler diesel capable of 120kW/403Nm – claimed by Nissan to be the most powerful in its class.
Those of you Carman’s Corner readers who need a plain workhorse might be attracted by its load capacity of up to 1144kg and reinforced body and suspension.
85 YEARS OF HERITAGE
Haasbroek added: ”The single-cab has developed through more than 85 years of heritage to earn a reputation for reliable, durable, light-commercial work and comes with a six-year or 150 000km* warranty and six-year or 90 000km* service plan.”
