Final flag for Sir Frank – genius of F1 racing

LONDON, England – Sir Frank Williams, founder of Formula 1 team Williams Racing, has died.

He was 79.

Here is the obituary release to Carman’s Corner by the Williams team…

Williams built the team into a dominant F1 force through the 1980’s and 1990s by, winning nine Constructors’ World championships and seven Drivers’ titles, although the most recent triumphs came in 1997.

THEN HE MOVED TO A WHEELCHAIR

The Englishman stepped down from the Williams board in 2012 and his family eventually ended 43 years of involvement in 2020. It was sold to Dorilton Capital.

The master F1 genius had used a wheelchair since a car crash in France in 1986.
