- Kia EV6 takes Guinness record for trans-USA drive
- Slashes Tesla recharge record by more than five hours
- Average recharge stop on 4636km drive less than 20 minutes
LOS ANGELES, California – Kia’s all-new EV6 battery-car has beaten a Guinness World Record by covering 4636km across the USA with the least time wasted on re-charges.
The drive from New York to Los Angeles took seven days during which the EV6 was plugged-in for seven hours, 10 minutes and one second to eclipse previous record-holder Tesla by more than five-and-a-half hours.
Russell Wager, vice-president for marketing at Kia America, told The Corner in a media release: “The EV6’s record-setting run is the latest signal that Kia will be a leader in the popularisation of electric vehicles.
”All Kia’s engineering and experience in electric vehicles will be applied in the move to electrification. The same attention to detail, design, quality, technology, and driving dynamics for which Kia has become known will be found in every new electric vehicle we produce.”
The EV6 is the first model to be launched under Kia’s ‘Plan S’ electrification drive.
