PARIS, France – Peugeot’s 9X8 has been awarded the 2022 title for “the world’s most beautiful hypercar” at the 37th Festival Automobile International.
The car, revealed in July 2021, won over the Festival Automobile International jury and car design enthusiasts.

Matthias Hossann, Peugeot’s design director, said after the announcement: “I’m very proud that we have won this prize. It’s an acknowledgement of the Design and Peugeot Sport teams’ work. The quality of exchanges with the Peugeot Sport team was exceptional, technically and at human levels.”

The car will debut in the 2022 FIA World Endurance championship under contemporary aesthetic codes specific to the Peugeot brand: listed as “feline stance, fluid lines enhanced by sportiness, sleek and structured flanks, and the distinctive three-clawed Lion light signatures”.
LOTS OF CARE FOR CAR AND CABIN
Peugeot described the car as “eliciting emotion; embodying speed… an iconic object, an aesthetic and technical revolution, the best-yet design adventure”.
The cabin is said to follow the brand’s i-Cockpit concept and, as with a production vehicle project, has received as much care as that given to designing the shell and cabin.
“The cockpit,” the automakers said, “has been created to give drivers an ergonomic and intuitive experience.”
