Automechanika tuning-up for seventh show in Jozi

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Automechanika will be at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, from June 7-10 2022 for a seventh time to manage a show for the automotive aftermarket.

The four-day event, biggest of its kind on the African continent, will be co-located with Futuroad Expo, sub-Saharan Africa’s leading professional exhibition for the truck, bus, and commercial vehicle industries.

Michael Dehn, new MD of Messe Frankfurt South Africa, told the Corner: “We’re excited to be bosting the automotive aftermarket industry. As Automechanika events around the world resume we’ve met unprecedented interest from exhibitors and visitors – and there will be face-to-face platforms for trade professionals to network, increase brand awareness, generate leads.

“Messe Frankfurt has grown Automechanika to world prominence through the past two years through restructuring to deal with vastly changed circumstances in the exhibition industry.”

The biannual Automechanika Johannesburg has, since 2009, been an ideal rendezvous for industry peers; for exhibitors to build supplier and customer bases. There were almost 150 B2B meetings during the 2019 show.

There will be local and international and local product launches of innovation and technology of interest to aftermarket sales stores and those in automotive service and maintenance, and motor dealerships.

Dehn again: “Training and education have become increasingly prominent features of Automechanika trade fairs globally and South Africa is no exception. In fact, these opportunities are widely promoted as major benefits of attending the trade fair at Nasrec,” said .

Automechanika goes back 51 years to 1971 when the first was held in Frankfurt.
