CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Chery SA is about to launch its flagship Tiggo 8 Pro as partner to the Tiggo 4 Pro.
Local Chery executive Tony Liu told The Corner: “The 4 Pro did everything we asked of it. It introduced Chery to South Africa and showcased our design, durability, and general accessibility. Now the Tiggo 8 Pro will show we’re a technology and design leader.”

Among luxury, safety, and technology features, Liu explained, are six crash-bags, Around View camera, stability and traction control, and digital tyre-pressure monitoring.
The 8 Pro is said by the brand to be “a synergy of bionics and aesthetics”. This from the media release: “At the centre of the new design is a chiselled front, a three-dimensional” grille, ‘Tiger Eye’ headlights, and multi-layered diode daytime lights – all combining into an appealing, yet assertive, look.”

The company says the 8 Pro will have a very high specification level – especially when safety and comfort are involved. Liu again: “We don’t compromise – every 8 Pro will have six crash-bags, traction control, and a multimedia screen showing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
CUSTOMER LEGACY
“All units will have quilted leather upholstery, and multi-zone air-conditioning.”
Chery SA has introduced a Legacy Customer campaign for any Chery owner who bought a vehicle from the previous independent importers. “We’ll service their vehicles, honour warranties, and show them a huge leap in design, technology, and safety.”
