DETROIT, Michigan – Brembo, has announced the addition of ‘Dual Cast’ two-piece brake discs to its aftermarket parts stock.

The company says the new products will join its Floating, Composite and Co-cast collections to offer customers ”a complete choice of two-piece replacement discs for many premium vehicles”.

This new discs, Brembo adds, have the technical characteristics of its two-piece portfolio, including using a special iron-casting process, lighter ”hats”, pillar or directional venting, and holes and/or grooves thorugh or on the braking surface.

PATENTED DESIGN

”Together,” the company says, ”these design solutions guarantee optimum braking in all conditions – precise and stable vehicle dynamics, better pedal-feel, less weight, and environmental benefits.”

The patented design uses aluminium and a cast-iron braking surface to harness the performance of iron to the advantages of light aluminium that can handle high temperatures.

”The result is a disc that’s as much as 30% lighter than an integral one of the same size, to give a significant reduction in fuel-consumption and exhaust emissions.”
