| JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Mitsubishi Motors SA says it has its sights focussed on drawing potential customers to its Triton double-cabon making its Triton bakkies the choice for fleet owners and even families with the double-cab versions. MMSA’s marketing manager Jeffrey Allison told The Corner: “There’s great interest in a more-robust commercial vehicle range – and we’.ll be happy to oblige with our Triton GL double-cab, particularly for leisure-market customers.” RIGID LADDER CHASSIS The Triton GL has an intercooled turbodiesel six-speed engine capable of 100kW/324Nm but, The Corner was told, is only available as a 4×2 with a limited-slip differential, a 75-litre fuel tank and 245/70R16 alloy wheel rims. Fuel consumption is listed as eight litres/100km in general driviing. Featurewise, the GL matches all other Tritons with anti-lock brakes electric brakeforce distribution and child-seat anchors and front collision mitigation bags. ‘STRIKING FEATURES’ Keyless entry, central locking, immobiliser and power windows are standard, as are aircon and a touchscreen. Allison again: ”Striking exterior features include a ‘Dynamic Shield’ nose and high bonnet line, body shape with sharp lines, wheel flares and bright accents, halogen headlights, foul-weather driving lights and a high brake-light.” WARRANTY AND SERVICE All Mitsubishi commercials are covered by an three-year or 100 000km (wcf) warranty along and five-year or 90 000km (wcf) service plan.
