PORT ELIZABETH, Eastern Cape – Isuzu Motors SA has launched a seventh generation of its D-Max bakkie in South Africa and simultaneously celebrated 44 years of production in South Africa.
The latest production model has assured a thousand jobs at Isuzu’s coastal plant (a city also named in the local vernacular as Gqeberha) and at showrooms across the country. were secured by the decision. Among the guests were SA’s President Ramaphosa.

He and other guests experienced a mountain climb with the new Isuzus and were entertained in experiential lounges before a finale Japanese Daruma Doll ceremony which in Japan symbolises perseverance, good fortune, and good luck.
Isuzu SA assembles bakkies and medium, heavy, and extra-heavy commercial vehicles for distribution in South Africa and sub-Sahara markets and sends semi-complete commercial kits to Kenya.
