Nissan Z Sport supercar set for US launch

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – Nissan US has announced US prices for the coming iteration of its “attainable dream car,” the 2023 Nissan Z – $39 990 for the Z Sport and $49 990 for the Z Performance. Both grades are scheduled to arrive at Nissan US dealers in the middle of 2022.

“The Nissan Z is our company’s heart and soul, bringing sports car design,” said Michael Colleran, senior vice-president, Nissan Marketing and Sales performance and excitement to a broad range of buyers, starting with the introduction of the first generation more than 50 years ago.

“With a starting MSRP of less than $40 000, this latest version is ready to create a whole new generation of Nissan Z fans.”


The 2023 Nissan Z will be offered in Sport and Performance grades along with a special Proto Spec Limited to 240 units for the US market, the Proto Spec edition will feature a special plaque as well as exclusive interior and exterior features paying homage to the Z Proto launched in 2020.

“All grades,” Nissan told The Corner, “will be equipped with a 300kW, three-litre, V6 twin-turbo engine and choice of six-speed manual or a new nine-speed auto transmission with paddle-shifters.

  • Z Coupe Sport 6MT or 9AT – $39 990 (R674 000)
  • Z Coupe Performance 6MT or 9 a/t – $49 990 (R842 000)
  • Z Coupe Proto Spec 6MT or 9 a/t * – $52 990 (R893 000)

“The 2023 Z,” Nissan US said, “will have a fresh and sleek exterior with a silhouette that communicates respect to its lineage with its long bonnet and short rear deck.

“The driver will recognise the instruments and controls from past Z generations – the three-analogue pod gauges – but including a customisableable, racing-inspired, TFT meter and touchscreen display.
