SWIFT SELLER – Suzuki SA had stellar June sales, helped by the popular Swift. Image: SuppliedCAPE TOWN, South Africa – June 2022 was another stellar sales month for Suzuki Auto as it closed in on 5000 sales in a one month.
The brand sold 4622 vehicles for an overall passenger vehicle market share of 15.26% which data put Suzuki in the third overall behind Volkswagen (which includes Audi) and Toyota (which includes Lexus and Hino).
THREE RECORDS BROKEN
According to automotive industry body Naamsa Suzuki broke all three benchmark records in June. The dealer network broke its one-month-old sales record of 3100 units with total sales of 3419. Suzuki set an outright record of 4622, and Swift sold 1926 – top-selling car.
Not to be outdone, Suzuki’s fleet department sold 1200 units in June.
Several other models performed well ahead of expectations: 340 Balenos, 569 S-Pressos, and 657 Vitara Brezzas were delivered. 397 Jimny models were sold, making it one of South Africa’s favourite off-road capable vehicles.
